WHY ARE YOU HERE??
A Finance student? Young professional? Want to start a business? Or just improve yourself, and making some money along the way wouldn’t hurt, right? Welcome! Now the work, and fun, begins.
WHAT IS ENTERPRISE OF ONE?
Let me introduce myself. I am Steve Martin, a finance professor at the University of South Carolina. I teach corporate finance and real estate finance/investments. For many years I was a real estate developer and serial entrepreneur.
A while back I realized that students and young professionals have access to a wide array of resources that might help them learn more about finance, entrepreneurship, and success, but, very few really good resources. Sure, the internet is full of sites that purport to offer the secret to success. Coaches. Systems. shortcut classes. They are all online. But tit can be difficult to figure out the good advice from the bad. In fact, much of the online information can be outright misleading. We can do better.
So what can this site do for you? Well along the way you will likely learn that there are two different types of work. There is smart work, and then . . . there isn’t. It is the goal of this site to provide information that helps you do smart work.
So who else writes at Enterprise of One. In addition to myself, we have a few writers that are not much different from you. In fact, there are very much like you. In fact, just a short while ago they were in your seats. Literally. Mostly, they are former students that now want to help other students and young professionals. Here is who writes at Enterprise of One.

I am in the process of finishing two books, the first of which I expect to be published by the end of 2021. I have an amazing family of kids ranging from 11 to 26 years old. And I am an avid Porsche fan.
